La
Manzanilla
La Manzanilla is one
of the last undiscovered hideaways of the Mexican Costa Alegre.
Located 200km south of Puerto Vallarta, 40km north of Manzanillo
Airport and 270km south of Guadalajara it is far enough to
be away from it all, yet close enough to major cities with
all facilities. Click here for a map
La Manzanilla is a quaint
little village where you can find the Mexico of yesterday.
While several Americans, Canadians and Europeans have settled
there, they have done so for the fact that it is not overrun
by tourists and it has kept it's original charm.
Located in the Bay of
Tenacatita, La Manzanilla offers some 8kms of wide soft sanded
beach with very calm waters ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
Kayak Excursions, Hiking and Nature Immersions are offered
for those looking to explore the surroundings. Guided tours
into the Lagoon which is a federally protected Ecological
Zone will allow you to see animals including, Caiman's (Alligators),
Heron, Ibises, Egrets and Kingfisher's. A truly exciting nature
experience.
The Bay of Tenacatita
has some of the best fishing in Mexico including Huachinango,
Tuna, Dorado, Jack, and Sailfish. Across the Bay is safe harbor
for many sailboats and power yachts. There are locals who
will take you out fishing or on a tour of the area. Ocean
and beach animals include Porpoises, Whales, Frigates, Pelicans,
Cormorants and more.
Some of Mexico's best golf courses
are as close as Tamarindo, just 10 minutes drive from La Manzanilla
and Isla Navidad, next to Barra de Navidad.
Many restaurants offer
anything from local Taco's to Filet Stakes and Asian Delights
making sure you will have plenty variety throughout your time
here.
Should you wish to get connected
to the outside world, there are two Internet Cafe's available
for you throughout the day.
